I like this annual event 'trip by bicycle'.
(First year we went to Asakusa, Next year to Hachiouji area.)
I've been living in Tokyo almost for 20 years, but I don't know all of Tokyo and I have
many places I've never been to.
It is good opportunity to know and go to many places I've never visited.

When I worked for some office, I often went to near Tsukijihonganji, and I have
seen it but just at a glance.
This time I have learned this temple is so fascinating.

We were relaxed Japanese Green Tea at this garden (Hamarikyu), but can you
imagine many tall buildings are around this garden?
Inside the garden, it is quiet but out of the garden, many cars run, and typical urban
view...
I had not noticed this interesting constrast since I entered this garden.

I usually don't feel this city Tokyo is so big in my daily life.
In our way home, we went through 'Otemachi' (sorry no pics).
There are many huge buildings in the area, and many foumous companies head office
are there.
Many of offices were closed because GW-H (olidays, but there are so many workers
in week days.
Hundreds of companies are there, and each of them support Japanese economy.
It took just 2-3 hours from our house (Musashino area) to Tsukiji-Chuoku area by
bicycle. so I feel Tokyo is small.
But Tokyo is also big and it has many things I don't know, I haven't seen.

I feel the same way as you about my City and also my country. New Zealand is such a small country, yet I have only travelled to the South Island once and still have many places to visit in the North Island.
If you enjoy cycling and the outdoors, you should come visit us in New Zealand sometime :) There's also lots of bushwalks and tramping/hiking opportunites here, the scenery is very beautiful. Very different to the scenerey in Japan though, which is also very beautiful!
I like reading these travel stories! Hope you enjoyed your Golden Week holidays! :)
